What insurance solution does PaulCamper offer me?

Scope of and conditions for using Allianz supplementary insurance for rental.

Supplementary insurance from Allianz

Your private car insurance will not cover damage resulting from rental transactions for a fee.

Together with our co-operation partner, Allianz, we have designed an insurance package with the following modules: Fully comprehensive cover, partially comprehensive cover, motor vehicle liability and a Europe-wide breakdown cover letter.

This means that Allianz's supplementary insurance applies to the rental business and your private motor insurance is not covered. This means that there is no double insurance and your own no-claims class is not affected by a possible claim.

The requirements for renting with Allianz supplementary insurance are

  • registered as a camping vehicle/motorhome up to 4 tonnes gross vehicle weight
  • Exception: If the vehicle class is N = lorry, the total mass must not exceed 3.5 tonnes.
  • The payload of the vehicle must not exceed 1 tonne, unless the vehicle class is a camper van, in which case there are no restrictions.
  • The vehicle must be privately registered in a private name (+ vehicle registration certificate for use 01), insured with at least private motor vehicle liability and have a replacement value of up to €100,00.

The costs of the additional insurance

  • are offset against your rental income,
  • are between 15 and 30 %, depending on the type of vehicle,
  • only arise if binding rental transactions are also concluded.
  • A maximum of 2 campers can be insured through us via the additional insurance. In addition, you will need your own commercial insurance.

Tip:

In most cases of private campervan hire, supplementary insurance is the more sensible option. It enables flexible hire between the times when you use your camper yourself.

If you have your own insurance for commercial hire without a driver, you can find out more here.
